Capture is robustly designed to help you in as many different workflows as possible. When you have a quiet period in one type of professional photography, we want you to be able to use Capture to help you win and complete other types of photography work. We want to help you be as adaptable as you can!
After working with numerous photographers across different photography sectors, we've built a long list of features, but you need a central base where you can modify those features, depending on how you want to use your Capture devices on any given day...
The Console is the control room of Capture. All functionality is managed in the Console (some functions can be managed in Commerce). The Console is a (mostly) mobile-friendly webpage, accessible from any computer, laptop or smartphone device.
When logged into console.elementice.com you can monitor and configure:
-
All of your Capture & Reader devices.
-
How your customers view & interact with the galleries you create. This includes branding, messaging, facial recognition, and selling downloads.
-
How Capture will work with other integrations including payment services (Stripe), or file management (Dropbox).
Logging in for the first time
This first video will show how to log into the Console for the first time. Check out this article for more details information on logging in/out of the Console.
Shooting Modes & other Device Settings
Shooting Modes are device settings that can be updated in the Console. It sets the Capture device into a particular workflow.
- With your Capture Walker turned on, open the Console and click on the Devices tab on the top banner of the Console and select the Capture device.
- You are now on the Device Page and can access the Device Settings section at the bottom of the page. Shooting Mode is a configurable setting under Device Settings. You can choose between Photo First and Scan First. You need to click the tick before the setting will be saved.
As you can see, there are many other settings that can be adjusted from this page too (including device allocation which you'll see in a minute). Once you're done with the Getting Started guide, be sure to check out the Knowledge Base for more info on all of those.
Creating Events & Device Allocation
While looking at the Device Settings for your new Capture device, you may notice that the Event it is allocated to/sending images to, is called "First test event". Here is a quick guide to creating your own events and allocating devices.
