Capture
This tutorial video shows most of what you need to know at this stage, so have a watch... but don't forget there is a bunch of extra info in the written Knowledge Base articles that include more details information - like the Camera settings - so don't skip working your way through the articles!
Reader
You already learned how to pair the Reader from the video above, so let's just jump straight into what the Reader can tell you and how to scan IDs...
The Reader screen gives you live info about the paired Capture device. In the top left you can find the 3G/4G cellular information, then top right are battery levels for Capture and Reader respectively. The main section of the screen details: The number of photos taken during this session, the number of IDs associated with this session of images, and the number of images that are in the queue to sync/upload to the Console.
How to activate the Scanner
Once the Reader is connected and displaying the standard screen, press the center blue Reader button to activate the barcode scanner. A red dot and square will be projected from the top of the Reader. Point the red dot at the code you want to scan. If it’s not scanning, try moving the Reader closer or further away from the barcode or QR code.
The red light will turn off again when it achieves a successful scan or after five seconds (whichever happens first). You’ll know you’ve had a successful read if the Reader beeps and buzzes, and the number of IDs displayed on the screen will increase. You can see scanning in action in this video:
Now we'll show you how to configure things like Shooting Modes to customize how your Capture devices can be adapted for your workflow. This is where the Console comes in.
