How does Multi Child Ordering show in the shopping cart
When Multi Child Ordering is turned on, a banner will appear at the top of the shopping cart. The parents will just need to press the Add a student button within the banner, which will bring up a prompt that allows parents to search for an additional subject by password.
From this point onwards, the parent is then able to view the order for all subjects simultaneously and switch between each subject seamlessly using the drop down menu at the bottom of the page.
How to establish if Multi Child Ordering was used
From the studio's point of view, Multi Child Orders come through as individual orders for each subject/order included. We have used the "link" iconography to visually indicate this throughout the interface.
In the top right corner on the order edit page, there will also be a link icon. If this is clicked a dropbox appears that shows which orders are linked.
Order status with Multi Child Ordering
If an order included in a multi child order has not ben sent to the lab for fulfillment but other orders included in the multi child order have been sent to the lab, a status of “Waiting on linked order” will appear with the message “This order is waiting on linked orders to be finalized.” If this message appears, take the necessary action to finalize the other linked orders and send them to the lab for fulfillment or mark them as complete.
Under normal circumstances when all orders in a multi child order are submitted to the lab at the same time, this status message should not appear.
