Capture
Commerce
Generate a subject barcode sheet within Commerce to use with Capture.
- Go to Clients & Sessions > Sessions and select the session.
- Once inside the required session, make sure all your subject data has been added to the session (names, passwords, etc.).
If your subjects are missing passwords, please follow the steps in this support article, as your barcodes require subjects to have passwords.
- Once all your data and passwords are correct, use the blue Actions button in the right-hand corner. Select Generate Subject Barcode Sheet from the drop-down menu.
- This will bring up and pop up where you can select the options for your bar codes.
- Layout Choice: Here you can select if you want a bar code or a QR code and size, depending on your preference. The larger the QR or barcode, the more information is held in them. QR codes are the most common option when using Capture.
- Barcode Format: Only necessary if the barcode option is selected. This allows you to choose the format of your barcode.
- Sort By: Determine how your codes will be sorted. Use any of the data that you have provided with your Subjects (e.g. Last name, Teacher, grade, etc.).
- Group By: Manage the codes into particular groups. Sort By could be organized by the last name and then you can Group By sections of subjects by teacher or grade.
- Page Break: Only if using Group By. This allows you to divide each group into separate sheets. Much easier to manage multiple groups across the one job.
- Subject Data: Add additional information you'd like printed under the codes to help identify subjects. This can be any data that is connected to the subject - ensure this information has been correctly uploaded. The subject name, password, and session will automatically show under the bar code, so do not need to be added here.
Code 39 & Code 128 are the two different standard types of barcodes our system can generate. Most photographers stick with the code 39 version.
- Code 39 barcodes encode 39 characters in total.
- Code 128 barcodes are considered more powerful because they can encode a full 128 ASCII character set.
- Once you have made your selections, click the green Generate button and your barcode sheet will download ready for use.
