Facial recognition is a fantastic feature of the Capture system. It's the perfect solution for contactless photography without losing the personal touch.
Like other integrations on the Console, it has to be installed at the account level first, and then it will be available to be added to your sessions or templates.

Advanced Feature: Reference Image via Scan (originally named Auto-Detection Referencing)
For a different workflow option, auto-detection referencing is turned on when you already have an advanced attendee list and you essentially take their selfies for them as they arrive at the event.
-
Collect attendee (student, events guest) data. Upload data to Console and generate a barcode sheet.
-
When adding Facial Recognition to the event, turn on Reference Image via Scan. Facial Recognition is turned on to take reference images for each child.
-
When at the shoot, scan the attendees' barcode first (Capture must be in Scan First shooting mode). The next photo after the scan is going to be the reference image. If required, you can repeat this process to add a second reference image.
-
All other photos can be taken without scanning, as long as they have a reference image.

Note: We consider this to be an advanced feature because it can really mix up your workflow in a way that you may not be used to. It cannot work if subjects are uploading their own selfies. Please reach out to discuss with your support team before giving it a go at a job. We want to work with you to ensure you have a great experience. |
Manually Uploading 'Selfies'
Attendees usually upload their own selfies into the system to register for Facial Recognition. However, there are times when the studio wants to upload a 'selfie' on behalf of the attendee. This can be done manually on the Console.
- Open the event on the Console.
- Click the Galleries tab under the photo scroller.
- Select the Attendees tab that now appears.
- As shown in the below screenshot, this attendee does not have a reference image and therefore there are no images showing in their personal gallery.
- Click the blue Reference Images button and a modal will appear.
- Click the green Add New button in the bottom right corner of the modal.
- Upload the reference image you have on file for the attendee.
- You may need to refresh the page to finalize the upload. We can now see that the Facial Recognition integration has immediately processed the uploaded selfie and created a personal gallery for the attendee.
