Branding is a big part of why many photographers and clients love to use our technology. You can use it to promote your own brand, sell branding as an add-on feature to your clients, or simply use a watermark to protect your images and help drive sales.
Branding is usually applied at the event level, although you can have devices assigned to the same event using different watermarks by using Device Specific Watermarks.
If you want to make sure that your design files fit perfectly, use the template .psd file available in the Branding section of an Event Page.
Applying Branding
- Branding is applied at the event level. Click the Events tab on the top banner of the Console and then select the relevant event.
- When on an Event Page, you can access the different configuration sections using the headings located beneath the image scroller. Choose the Branding section.
- Ensure your files are the right size and type for use with Capture - either adhere to the details written next to the title of each upload box, or download and use the Branding Template .psd file available on the event page.
- When you are ready to upload your files. Either drag your files into the space provided or click the box to use a file explorer to select your file.
- If you don't upload a portrait specific watermark, the system will assume that you are using a single watermark for both landscape and portrait (because it would be weird to only watermark landscape images and not portrait).
- The watermark anchors to the lower right corner of the image, so if you want to have the same watermark appear in the lower right of both portrait and landscape images, you only need to upload one Watermark (1000 x 1000 pixels).
How it works
Watermarks are applied to images when the image is first received by the Console. If you change the watermark halfway through an event, it will not re-watermark the earlier images, this is why it is important to check that your watermarks are working correctly before you start the event.
If you are using a watermark, rest assured, your original un-watermarked images are still kept in the database. Download them as hi-res to view them un-watermarked.
Advanced features
Allow device watermarks setting should be left as "No" unless you are specifically trying to use multiple watermarks in the same event - see Device Specific Watermarks for more info.
