Gallery Cards act as a key for the customer to enter their subject gallery. They can be scanned by a Capture Reader to have images added to a gallery and then scanned by a customer phone for instant access to their own personal gallery.
You can use Gallery Cards to give strangers easy access to free images, redirect the card to your Commerce shopping cart, upsell your brand-conscious clients with the design options, and create shared access to a public Gallery Card which is accessible to all event guests.
Here are a few things to know about Gallery Cards...
Gallery Cards work for all events under your account.
Gallery Cards are linked to your account on the Console. Any cards you have ordered will work for any/all events you create in the Console. This means your customers could keep a Gallery Card from one event and use it again at another one of your events. Mypics.io will show the galleries from all events where the ID is scanned.
|
Note: You can only use your own Gallery Cards. You cannot mix Gallery Cards across different user accounts. |
You can brand the Gallery Cards for yourself and/or your customers.
Gallery Cards are the size of a business card with branding on one side and a QR code & instructions on the other. The code on each card is unique and corresponds directly to a gallery of photos.
When you order Gallery Cards through the Console, we create them under your account. This means you can make custom branded Gallery Cards for your customers/events. Why not use it as a value-add or an upsell for your Customers who want to get their brand out there more? The front face of the Gallery Card is able to be edited. The only part of the QR side of the card that can be changed is the highlight color of the text - nothing else can be edited.
A template .psd file for all branding assets (including for Gallery Cards) is available in the Console under the Branding section of any event.
Gallery Cards work with other types of ID
If you are using the registration feature, the Attendees functionality or Facial Recognition, no worries. Gallery Cards can be used alongside these features at the same event - it's not either/or - it's both/and. This means you can have pre-registered attendees and have a few spare Gallery Cards on-hand which can be used for any last minute additions.
In fact, you can even convert a Gallery Card into an "Attendee" in the Console. This will use the code on the Gallery Card as the Attendee ID and ask them for further information which will allow sending them an SMS or email notification.
Gallery Cards can be activated/deactivated
By default, all Gallery Cards come activated, which means that when scanned, they will immediately open the associated gallery. It is possible to deactivate a Gallery Card so that when scanned, a message notifying the user is displayed on the gallery until it is activated: "This card is inactive. Please speak with event organisers to have the card activated".
Reasons you might want to deactivate a Gallery Card:
-
You require an in-person transaction to take place before you allow access to the gallery, e.g. you give the customer their Gallery Card and they take it to the cashier who takes payment and activates the Gallery Card.
-
You don't want people to be looking at the images until after a certain time, e.g. you don't want people looking at their phones until after the end of the performance which is being captured.
Whatever the reason, you can deactivate cards one by one, or you can ask for all of your Gallery Cards in a batch to be created in a deactivated state.
Gallery Cards can be ordered via the Console
You can't just create your own cards which look like Gallery Cards and expect them to work the same. Gallery Cards are unique to Capture and are tightly integrated with our system to ensure optimal performance for you and your customers.
You can order new batches of Gallery Cards yourself through the Console.
