In order to import large list of clients, a new bulk client import feature has been introduced in the import section. A CSV file can be uploaded into a Commerce account to bulk create client records. This needs to be activated within your account manually by a support team member before it's available for us. Reach out to your team via Slack for access.
We can import following data for a client:
- Client Name
- Description
- Reference Code
- Territory Code
- Access Code
- Permalink
- Website Address
- Contact
- Primary Address
- Shipping Address
Importing Bulk Data via CSV
A client name is the minimum requirement to create a client. A sample CSV template (with all the available data columns) can also be downloaded here. A list of default fields and alternate fields is provided at the end of this article.
- To import your client list, go to Clients & Sessions > Imports.
- Bulk import can be selected either for Clients or Sessions. Click on the Clients tab to import clients.
- The template for client imports can be downloaded by clicking the gray

- Click and drag your completed CSV file into the upload area. Once uploaded, the file will be validated and a processing option will appear.
- The file will flow through following stages:
queued for processing
,processing
andcomplete
. - Details of the import can be viewed by clicking on the Import ID.
- If the imported file has invalid entries, it will be reported as
Invalid
. - Issues in the file can be viewed by clicking on the Import ID.
Primary Address and Shipping Address
For Primary Address and Shipping Address, if no value has been provided for country
, the default value will be the Member's country
. The state
in Primary Address and Shipping Address is validated when the country
is defined, or, if not defined then with the Members country.
The Primary Address and Shipping Address will be imported only after validation of state
and country
. In case of country United States
, the alternate values United States of America
and USA
(irrespective of case - upper, lower, all caps) can be provided.
