Once the Reader is connected and displaying the standard screen, pressing the center Reader button will activate the barcode scanner. A red dot and square will be projected from the end of the Reader. Point the red dot at the code you wish to scan. If it’s not scanning, don't panic. Just try moving the Reader closer or further away from the code. If no red scan light appears, contact Support.
The red light will turn off again when it achieves a successful scan or after five seconds, whichever happens first. You’ll know you’ve had a successful read if the Reader beeps and buzzes, the number of IDs will also be displayed on the screen.
Display ID
The Reader can display the last code you scanned briefly on screen. Space is limited so it will only show as many characters/digits as it can fit on the display.
To activate, hold down the left button on the reader until you hear 2 quick beeps. There is currently no option to have it reappear, so be mindful to review it immediately after every scan. Hold the left button again until you hear two quick beeps to deactivate the setting. When powered down, the Reader will not remember the setting so you will need to repeat the activation process every time the Reader is paired.
Continuous Scan Mode
Continuous scan mode on the Reader makes the Barcode/QR code reader motion-activated, rather than having to press the center button of the Reader to activate the scanner.
To activate Continuous Scan mode, hold down the right-hand button on the Reader until the Reader beeps twice and ‘CS’ appears at the top of the Reader screen (alongside the battery icons). See here for more details instructions.
Show Scan Success
Sometimes a beep and buzz just aren't enough, if you'd also like a big tick to display on the Reader screen upon successful scan see here for how to activate/deactivate that function.
Inverted Screen Mode
If the normal orientation of the Reader screen doesn’t fit with your workflow, you can change the Capture Walker’s settings to invert the screen of the paired Reader. See here for instructions.
Battery Warning
When you are in the thick of the action, keeping track of battery levels can be challenging. That's why we have added a warning alarm which will appear once the device reaches 10%. This warning will stay on screen until the user presses any button or the Reader is put on charge. The Reader has a hard shut down prior to hitting 0%, so don't delay putting it on charge once the low battery is registered.
Error Messages
If your device is set to Scan First mode but you make a mistake and take the photo first instead, an error message will appear on the Reader screen. This message will stay on screen until dismissed. To dismiss the error message, push any button and continue with proper usage or update your device settings. This alert is only triggered when a workflow error has been made in either Photo First or Scan First modes.

Warning: Resetting these configurations will clear your session/event. Always re-scan the job sheet barcode or re-add the Capture device to the event/sessions again before continuing. |
