Turning it on, turning it off, and all the variations thereof...
To see the startup procedure, skip to around the 1min mark of the below video.
Powering On
Press the power button (black button located on the blue face of your Capture device... the only button there is), then watch the four status lights next to the power button, as it boots up.
Powering Off
Press and hold the Power button for approximately three seconds until most of the status lights turn off. The green Power light will stay on for a short time while it completes power-down procedures. If you've started a shut-down and the Capture device stays on, with the lights flashing in sequence, it means that an automatic update is installed. Please let the device complete the update. It will shut down once finished
If a Reader is paired to the Capture device at the time of shutdown, it will also shut down automatically when the Capture unit shuts down.
Hard Reset
If all else fails and you can't shut down your device, insert a paperclip into the reset pin hole on the device to push the internal button. The power will cut out immediately and the Capture unit will reboot. You should be able to use the device now, or you can now follow normal shut-down procedures.
|
Important: Do not repeatedly press the hard reset button within a 5 minute period. Doing so can disrupt the boot process and damage the device. |
Restart or shutdown from Console
If your Capture device is connected to the Console, you can shut it down or reboot it remotely.
- When your device is powered on and connected to the Console click the Devices tab on the top banner of the Console and select the relevant Capture device
- You can now access the Shutdown or Restart commands from the row of controls above the image feed.
Auto Power Off
Capture Walkers automatically shut down if the following conditions are all true:
- No tags have been scanned for 20 mins
- No images have been taken for 20 mins
- There are no images awaiting upload
Whether the device is plugged into power or not doesn't affect the auto shutdown.
Readers will auto power-off if it was connected to a Walker which is shutting down.
