If images are uploaded with the incorrect image rotation via a Capture device, then this will need to be fixed. Rotation changes in the Console will not update in Commerce since Commerce reads the Exif Data as the images are added and any changes in the Console will not update the Exif Data.
If images are uploaded directly to Commerce with the incorrect image rotation the same rules apply, these images require fixing so the rotation is set correctly in the metadata. Our cropping and direct fulfillment labs cannot work with incorrectly rotated images.
