Sometimes customers have great ideas for new features, and other times it might be a suggestion on how to improve an existing feature. Whatever the reason we want to hear from you!
If you are fairly new to Fotomerchant and unsure if what you want would be considered a feature request, then just ask the friendly success team in your Slack channel to discuss the idea so we can help guide you. It might be we can point you to a solution that already exists, otherwise, we will let you know to complete a feature request form.
We appreciate any and all feedback our customers provide and review each request, so "How does it work?" I hear you asking.
When you open a Feature Request Form, you will notice we have kept it short but have carefully curated specific questions. This is intentional, these are designed to give us the best chance of understanding your idea, suggestion, problem or solution. You can also add files if you have a visual aid to assist us even further.
Once you've filled out the form someone from our Product Management team will review it. From there it may be handled in a variety of ways. If we already have an existing request similar we can add your feedback to the existing identified feature. If this is a new idea, it might become a feature of its own, or in some cases, a request is rejected. When that happens we will reach out to let you know and the circumstances of why. Other requests may result in someone from the product team reaching out for more information, you may be asked to take part in a customer interview as well.

Note: The life cycle of a feature request can vary. It can be very fast or very slow, with many factors that impact this. It is almost impossible to tell you, early on, what might happen with your request. |
Features have to go through a lot of steps before we consider scheduling them to be built. They start as ideas, later they move to 'Candidate' status. In some cases, there is further design work and research or customer interviews that needs to be pursued. At this point, the feature is then scored against a large list of criteria before we decide what will make it into the planning stage for development.
We have a lot of great features we are working on already and we call this our Development Roadmap.
If a requested feature moves to a test phase, then you may get early access to supply feedback before a full release goes live. We will do our best to keep you up to date on features you're associated with as they move through the planning and testing stages.
You are welcome to follow up on any request and see if it has moved from an idea to a candidate or into planned work. If something changes and a feature becomes more or less important, please update the support team so we can also adjust the feature request on our end.
