Archiving a Product
Archiving is a way of hiding Products and making it easier to set up fresh Catalogs for the new season ahead. This feature is especially great if you have a lot of Products and want to simply hide last year's products while creating your new Catalogs.
Archiving will not delete the Products from Catalogs and Packages, so you can safely archive a Product without affecting your existing setup. You also have the option to un-archive a Product if needed.
- Click on Products in the main navigation of the Commerce interface and navigate your way through to the correct Product section and the Product you would like to archive.
- Click on the cog icon next to the product and select Archive.
This will move the Product into an Archived tab, from where it can be un-archived by using the cog icon next to the Product and selecting Un-archived.

Note: An archived Product will not automatically be removed from the existing Catalogs or Packages. If you want to remove Products from all Catalogs and Packages, we recommend using the Review Usage option and opening all Catalogs and Packages it is used in. Then go through the steps below to retire the Product out of each of these Catalogs. |
Retiring a Product from a Catalog or Package
If you want to remove a Product from a Catalog or Package, we recommend using the retire option. Retiring a Product will hide that Product in the shopping cart for your clients. The Product can still be used when setting up other Catalogs or Packages.
If a Product has previously been purchased for a Catalog or Package, it will become locked and the only option to take out that Product will be to retire it. If a Product has not been used for that catalog before, you can also use the Delete option that is explained further below.
- Navigate to the Store > Catalogs or to the Products > Packages area of your Commerce interface and click on the Catalog/Package name to open it.
- Locate the Product you would like to retire and tick the Retire this product option below.
Deleting a Product from a Catalog or Package
This option is only available if the Product has not yet been purchased, as all purchased Products in a Catalog are locked. If the Product has been purchased or used in a test order, you will need to use the retire option that was explained above.
- Navigate to the Store > Catalogs or to the Products > Packages area of your Commerce interface and click on the Catalog/Package name to open it.
- Locate the Product you would like to delete and click the X icon next to it.
