Studio
Fotomerchant Studio will make your life so much easier when it comes to group photos. The facial recognition tool helps to name and identify all students and rows in group photos. You can then export this data to offer your clients named group photos.

Mark a photo as a group image
- Open a session and select Studio > Images to see the complete image gallery.
- Using the options toolbar, filter the gallery to only show images with Multiple Faces.
- Double click the image and press the Mark as Group Photo icon in the right-hand panel. All images that are marked as a group image can be found in Studio > Groups.
Use facial recognition to identify subjects in groups
- Open a session and select Studio > Groups to see the group image gallery.
- Double click an image to open further options. Click the green Recognize Faces button from the right panel.
- You can now rename the group image. Scroll down to review the subject suggestions. Subject info will be shown under a side-by-side of the subject portrait and the group photo image.
- Click the green Save button in the top right corner to confirm.
- These images, with subject details, will now appear in Commerce under the Groups tab of the session.
Use row recognition to identify subjects and rows
- Click Studio > Groups and double click an image to access more options.
- Select the green Recognize Rows button. Scroll down to review the subject suggestions, row by row. Subject info will be shown under a side-by-side of the subject portrait and the group photo image. Subjects that have been identified will be suggested with a % accuracy for approval.
- Click the green Save button in the top right corner to confirm.
- These images, with subject details, will now appear in Commerce under the Groups tab of the session.
Manually match a group subject and export options using facial and row recognition
- Click Studio > Groups and double click an image to access more options.
- The photo will open in a new panel to the right with some option buttons underneath the image. You can check the subject information by pressing the Review Subjects button, or export the subject information by clicking the next button across (with the down pointing arrow).
- Subjects that do not find a match will be shown with a sad face emoji. Click on the sad face box and then search for the subject to manually match them.
- Exporting a group image having performed row recognition will show the image, and the subject names separated by their relevant rows. This is a helpful tool if needing to confirm accuracy with a school.
