Holding & releasing digital downloads

Digital Downloads that have been ordered during either a reorder or preorder stage will be held and NOT delivered to the customer until you manually choose the final image to be used for fulfillment. This setting is useful when retouching is ordered: you will be able to retouch the image and upload the finalized retouch image at your leisure. 

Note: If "Allow Final Pose Choice" is enabled, regardless of the image chosen by the studio, the customer will still be able to choose their preferred image if there are multiple images to choose from.

1. Open Clients & Sessions > Sessions and click the name of the session you need to update. or set this for.
2. When looking at the session stages, click the cog icon on the right of the Re-Order stage. Select Edit from the drop down options.
3. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page to the Options section and then set Hold Digital Downloads to Yes.
4.  Scroll to bottom of page and click Save.

Note: If you have multiple stages this feature will need to be turned on in each stage. If you are using Session templates you will want to make sure these are updated also.

If your session is in a pre-pay stage, ensure that digitals are set to be held if any edits or retouching needs to be completed, otherwise they will automatically be sent to the customer as soon as the subject is matched.

Approve Digitals for Release

1. Once a customer has made an order that includes a digital product, click Store > Orders and open the specific order by clicking on the hyperlinked Order Reference.
2. After making the necessary edits and retouching, click Upload Image and replace the original with the updated image. 
3. When everything is ready press the green Use Image button. Please note, this triggers the digital product to be sent to the customer immediately.
   
   1. The product will take a moment to be generated. Once complete, you will be notified on screen:
      
      
4. The customer receives an email with a link from which they can download the digital product. When the product has been downloaded, there will be a note added to the product within the order highlighting that the image was successfully downloaded by the customer.
